“What be this?” he bellows, his voice a gale force wind. “A slip of a girl, adrift in her own fathomless mind, while the world outside founders 'neath its burdens?”
Mouse, with the weight of the world in her gaze, declares, “I be Mouse, mistress of this realm, a haven wrought from passion and bedlam.” Her words carry the heft of an anchor, pulling the sailor into her depths.
The sailor’s laughter, deep as the ocean’s trench, speaks of his own dalliance with delirium. “Madness,” he says, “be no mere trifle. It be the abyss that swallows a man whole, leaving naught but echoes of his despair.”
